Office Refurbishment, Burwood This project involved the total design, documentation and construction management of the refurbishment of an existing commercial building, externally and internally, together with a fresh office fit out. The existing fore awning was refurbished and its appearance transformed to suit a fresh building. The fore stairs were refiled and new stainless steel handrails were added along with a fresh building identification. Internally both Ground and First Floor were stripped back to a bare shell for a whole refurbishment of services and finishes. Beginning Floor design fit out included a fresh custom designed marble Reception desk and signage behind, glass partitioned offices. The center piece for all guests is the centrally located glass enclosed Board Room comprising number of fully custom designed elements such as the suspended marble buffet with built in TV and restrict joinery concealed behind a dark glass wall, electronically integrated Board Room table and feature leather paneled wall. Our in house Interior Designer was involved throughout the entire project active closely with the Client with the selection of all finishes including fresh furniture and joinery. It was designed on a principle of providing the client with the feeling of being at a resort every time they reach home. The journey starts at the contemporary street pavilion and as it continues through the home the setting is slowly revealed in stages and ends at the Bali hut in the garden. The considerable additions and alterations to the existing nursing home over the years had left it with a variety of outer finishes which detracted from its overall appearance. A key architectural element of our design was to provide a new front colonnade and covered unite to distract from the various diverse buildings after to unify the new facade as one. A important part of the second store has been concealed within the roof line of the 'bungalow' having minimal impact on the streets cape.
